This hammock, large in size, is adorned with crocheted lace, tassels, and pinewood beads by the Maya Artists of the Yucatan. Long before the Spanish arrived on the Yucatan Peninsula, the Maya people preferred to sleep and relax in hammocks. They considered the hammock to be like a mother's loving embrace, as it cradles and swings the body comfortably. The artisans aim to preserve traditional customs while creating modern versions of the original Maya hammock. To them, the hammock is a piece of art. Their hammocks are extremely comfortable, low maintenance, and can be stored almost anywhere. They are easy to pack for trips to the beach or lake. The package includes extender ropes, "S" hooks, and instructions for easy installation. Please note that due to the handwoven nature of each hammock, measurements may vary by up to ten centimeters, and there may be slight color variations between hammocks.
